HELp my MANDARIN!!!

My male mandarin has clumpy white "stuff" on his dorsal spine, and a little on one gill!!! And i dont have a QT....I know, my fault. Anyone have ideas of what it might be?? I can try to get a pic, but I dont have a tripod and they normally come out alittle blurry.

dust from the bottom of the tank. nothing to worry about most likely. mandarins have a thick slime coat, so i doubt it would be a parasite.

My mandarins get the same debris on them while they are digging around for food.
