help my pump is not working

when i got up today my wet/dry return pump was not working it was just making a humming sound.It was not pushing water back to the tank.And my floor was wet, I can't see where the water was getting out of the tank, do you think it was from the return lines in the tank spitting water as the water got lower in the tank.I took the pump apart to see if anything was in it but there wasn't.Anybody know what may have went wrong?I have marked the tank and wet/dry to see if the water is still going down but it is not.Please somebody help me.

i'm going to buy a new pump today what kind do you think.i have/had a mag.

How many fish in your tank. Better get an air stone or something going in there for oxygen.

Mag's are good pumps. I'm a little surprised yours failed. How old was it ?

my skimmer and 2 powerheads are still going.that will be ok for a little bit won't it?

I've used Mag's for years. I recently purchased a quiet one and it is having start up problems. I've also heard good things about the Eheim but have never used one.

stay with a mag drive....

i'm gonna go with a nag drive for me sump, iheard they also live longer than alot of pumps

I have a mag 3 in my pond for about 8-9 years and it still runs with minimal cleaning. It even ran dry for a day or two when my liner cracked.

thanks i did go with the mag.it has been a good one for me so no need to change
