I have a really unique tomini tang recently i addeda eibl angel which he isn't a big fan off he did his usual jerk face tail swiping till he was sure the little angel knew who was boss

since the eibl was knew i've payed him more attention i now see though the spot where my tangs scalpel are that it looks injured it looks like the blade got caught and pulled out is this something ok will it heal what should i do i'm freaking out i love my little tang he's become very friendly and the thought of losing him saddens me

also any ideas on how to help him leave the eibl alone?

I have a Tomini and he doesn't have a scalpel on either side. I assumed that breed doesn't have them. Are you sure it's a Tomini? Can you post a picture of it?

he won;t stay still very long but here is one if it loads

mine has always had the little razed edges but this literally looks like a compound fracture jutting outta his tail IMG_20120620_190415.jpg

as you see he lacks the orange i've turned my tank lights off in an attempt to calm tang and because its bed time

idk if this is the same for saltwater fish because i haven't had saltwater for long or ever seen something like that but when my freshwater cichlids are beating up on a fish i normally feed more and am present by the tank more like cleaning the class and such. idk about the injury tho.

yeah i've tried all my regular cichlid tricks already kinda tripping out i loves my tang

You could try taping a mirror to the side of the tank to see if the tang is occupied with its image and loses interest in the angel. Otherwise, you need to make some sort of acclimation box out of light diffuser eggcrate and put the angel in it for a while so the tang gets used to having the angel around.

Tangs can be quite aggressive to after-introduced fish, which is why the normal recommendation is to add them to the tank last.

no there is noticable redness on other side and literally a needle like point sticking out

It could just be that the scapel got caught in a locked out position. With no redness or swelling and no other impact on the fish, I would let it go for a while and see if it returns to normal so long as the fish is eating ok.

so is it most likely his scalpel? and he is eating and i've heard about taping a picture of himself to tank what you think of that
