So I recently bought a 4 stage Kent RO/DI unit.... real nice one...
It came with the garden hose style adapter for hooking it up to your faucet. Problem is I'm in an apartment right now and we don't have any faucets anywhere with an outside thread/garden hose type of connection. There's no option for doing a professional in-line install under the sink at the moment.

We do have an older style kitchen sink with the inside threads. Its the type where you unscrew the small part with the little "filter" and then the faucet itself has some fine inside threads.
What fitting do I need to hook the RO/DI unit up to that with the inside threads?

Will this do the trick? I can't tell from the picture if the top part has inside threads or I'm just wasting my time! No experience with this much at all....

If not does anyone have a link or idea to what I would need?

Need help/answers ASAP , I don't want to buy anymore RO water at the LFS!!!

They should have what you need at Lowes or Home Depot. Take the aerator casing with you so you can verify the fine threads are the same (may not be a choice on the fine threads, but if there is, you'll be prepared). The other end just needs to be a 5/8" garden hose male. The faucet section usually has a small wall of aerators and plugs, etc. That's where I found mine.

I have been looking for a nice RO/DI unit that i didn't have to put inline with my water lines. This one sounds like it would be what i'm looking for. I was wondering where you picked it up at?

Well really though. If you have the room for the unit under the sink all you have to do is unscrew the cold water line and place the RO/DI feed inline.. It should have a valve so you can turn the unit off and on.. When you want to use it just drop the drain line in the sink and turn the valve on. When you move out the feed valve just unscrews.. The only part that leaves a permanent mark is the saddle valve for the drain.. But if you do like I said and just hang it in the sink when in use your good.

Yes, it was really simple to do when I put one in there myself. I recall that I replaced a short section of a flexible tubing that connected the water line and the faucet with a shorter tubing I bought from Lowe's so I can put a diverter valve (water supply valve) that I ordered with my RODI unit. My RODI unit is an inexpensive 5-stage one and not one of those high end ones like a Spectrapure unit, but it does the job just fine.

I've had my RO unit forever, hooked up to a regular sink faucet with a diverter valve. Very easy. Anyone interested in such a setup can check out mine next weekend.

yeah that totally wasn't an option for us.... small kitchen so all that room under the sink is being utilized
Plus more importantly it's all hard copper lined and sealed so it would've been somewhat of a pain...

I ended up just getting an adapter at home depot - I guess its just called an adapter with a standard faucet thread and I think they said something about a dishwasher thread....

stormscall, just make sure whatever one you get that it has a "garden hose" connection or something similar to that.

I ended up getting a 50gpd Kent Maxxima but it's kinda overkill!
