help needed. ro/di not working???

i have a kent 35 gallon per day ro/di unit and water has stoped coming out of the "pure" water line but water Is coming out of the waste water line. It seems to be clogged, but i just replaced both the carbon prefilters and the DI filter about 2 months ago so i dont see how it could be clogged already. Does anyone know what could be going on? i have good water pressure coming out of my fauset and my unit has been working fine for the last 7 months until now. The only thing i havent replaced yet is the ro membrain. is it time to replace the ro membrain, or could it be something else?

That's very strange. Do you happen to have a pressure gauge to actually measure the pressure? I know you said the pressure is good but sometimes it's hard to tell by eye. If your unit is only 7 months old, you should definitely not need a new membrane unless something is really wrong.

How much water is coming out of the waste line? Did you make sure your flow restrictor is working properly? If you do not have sufficient backpressure with the flow restrictor you will not develop enough pressure to force water through the membrane. Just for kicks try restricting the waste line and see if you get water out of the product side, try kinking the waste tubing or putting a ball valve on it and pinching it down. If you do get water then I would look at two possible choices, the flow restrictor or low incoming pressure. For pressure get an inline pressure gauge and put it after the prefilter and carbon and make sure you have somewhere over 50 psi available to the membrane.

im not sure what a flow restrictor is? but the waste water line seems to have slightly above normal water coming out of the line... but not much more then the normal. i tried closeing the waste line with my thumb over the line and it eventually just shot out when the pressure got to high, and no water came out of the product side. i however did mess around and tried to suck water out of the product line and i was able to get water to come out again.. its been making water for the last few hrs. but this is the second time it has clogged like this in the last 2 weeks. so it feels like something is clogging it i guess.
