Help, no heat!

So I just realized my heater is not working. I have an AC Jr I got used, and of course I had to order a new Temp probe this week because that went out. I figured it wasnt a big deal because the heater I have in there now I used for my 95g tank and has a built in digital controller for it. I have it set to 78, but its been at 72 the last day or so after being the 78-79 I had my AC Jr. set for. I checked it today after work and although it says the tank is 72 and the heater is on and functioning, I just checked it and it is as cold as it can be.
So after this I guess my main question is, does anyone local have a heater I could borrow? I am also looking for suggestions on a new heater. Since I have a new temp probe arriving on Tues I dont need another with a controller so I was looking at this finnex one from BRS. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store...nex-deluxe-titanium-heating-tubes-heater.html

i have a old non submersible heater and a small 25 or 50 watt submersible you could use if you think that would help.

Also, I have never really used a glass heater, but this week I just had a friend whos heater blew up in his nanocube and killed his clown, made the water all cloudy.

not just glass that will do that . i was given a stealth heater and i put it into the temp tank setup lasted 2 days then blew stunk up the whole room luckily only rock was in the tank.

Angry john- I will look into it. How reliable are the Haber heaters? If they are reliable that might work. Just not sure when I could make it over to new London.

I appreciate the gesture John, I just dont think I can make it over to New London area within a few days, so I may just borrow a heater that I was offered and order a new one in the meantime. I may even order a Jager heater. Thanks again!

just checked my temp and i'm down to 72 as well :( need to buy a heater, but NL is pretty far. that's an awesome deal for a jager as well.

Well I just found an old aqueon crappy glass heater that a friend gave me a while back and have that hooked up. I think its the kind that comes with those crappy starter kits. Its also from the friend that had his heater explode this week lol I guess I will use it for the time being.

Ebo has always been good to me, i have had 1 for over 6 years still heats like a champ!! i use a controller but have used it multiple times with its internal thermo and still works great! Solid heater IMO!!

I have used Finnex Ti heaters too and they always worked just fine for me, although i never used one for more than a year(going from smaller tanks to bigger and vise versa) so i cant be of much IMO on that one, turn the heat up in the house ;)

Hmmm well that has me thinking maybe the Jager is the way to go. I guess if my temp probe dies again I can use it stand alone temporarily.

Sucks about your heater, but it least it only got down to 72. Ive had the same problem in my 55 but lost everything. Now I keep a back heater in the sump that is set to lower temperature just in case the first one goes. Sorry, dont have an extra heater. Good luck

Just as a suggestion, you may want to buy two smaller heaters. The wattage is additive so 2 150w = 1 300w. Its just that extra piece of mind to have a 'back up' to keep things alive.

I keep a spare 150 around for heating salt water prior to adding it to the tank in the winter. Its just that extra piece of mind that if something was to fail I would have something to throw in there until the LFS opened the next day.
