Ok so my graduation was friday. Anyways i gave my mom my camera to take pictures because it is digital. It is a coolpix p80. When i went to go and look at the pictures they wernt there. Is there anyway they might be lost in my camera. Any help would be great i really want these pictures.

Kinda need more info. Did she ever use the camera before? On both my wife's P&S's, when you just hit the shutter release, it just focuses on the subject. It will only take the pic if you hold it down or hit it twice. Did you use a memory card or does the camera hold pics in an internal memory? Was there a card in the camera?

No it was the first time she used the camera. I just hit the button and it takes a picture. The memory card was in the camera. I have never had any issues at all.

Try to take a pic and see if it shows up. I'm thinking it may have been something she did.

If the camera is functioning properly and photos were recorded, the CF/SD card may have gotten corrupted. If that's the case, there is software that, in most cases, can recover the images. Don't do anything to the card. Put another card in the camera and see if photos can be captured and recorded. If they can, your camera is working properly and you should consider using recovery software on the problem card.

x2 - Jesse's idea could actually harm your ability to recover images if that's the case.
