i think those are two different species of frogspawn... the first looks like your typical frogspawn, while the 2nd pic looks like the "octo coral" aka a more packed in frogspawn.

i've got both in one of my tanks and yours looks healthy.

The first one looks like it is in a low flow area and is overextending its polyps, try a bit more flow.
