I notice this is a common topic of discussion, but was interested if anyone might be able to help with my particular scenario.
I have a 12 gallon nano up and running. Just about to transfer inhabitants to my new 58.
The 12 is about a year old. Originally purchased two small false clowns and everything was fine for about 3 months. I went on vacation and had an autofeeder set up. When I got back the larger of the two would not let the other out of the corner of the tank to eat. The smaller one didn't make it.
I attempted to add a second to the 12 gallon about a month later. I made a horible newbie mistake and purchased a similar size to the existing one. The existing one didn't let that one eat either . Again a bad outcome. I decided not to attempt that again.
Now I would like to move everything from the 12 to the 58. I would like to have two clowns if possible. The other alternative would be to have several 3-4.
My question is what would be the best method to go to 2?
or
Best method to go to 3-4 (and is 3or4 enough?)
Should I move the existing one in first or buy the new fish (small?), let them settle in for a month an then move the trouble maker?
Thanks in advance.
Doug
