Help on nudibranchs extermination

First, I would like to send you all greetings from Spain.

I am having a serious problem with nudibranchs in my aquarium and I seem to be unable to work it out. These animals are literally eating out all my hard corals and I cannot find a solution to this problem. I have been told that Halichoeres marginatus do eat nudibranchs.

After having been reading ReefCentral, there are certainly many subject matter experts here. That is the reason I am asking for some help from you folks. I have even pulled all hard corals out of the tank, clean them thoroughly and disinfect them with Levamisol. But I am unable to entirely get rid of all of them.

Could someone please tell me how to exterminate them completely?

I am including a few pictures hoping somebody can identify them and give me a latin name so I can continue to search for more info.

It's hard to say for sure, but it could be Phyllodesmium longicirrum or Flabellina bilas. I'm far from an expert though, just a hobbyist :)

Recty, thanks for your super-quick response. Any idea how to get rid of them?

Not off the top of my head... if you havent seen www.wetwebmedia.com, go there and search nudibranchs, you'll get lots of information including how to remove them.

Recty,

It is a great webpage. I have been looking thoroughly but "nudis" are not easy at all to eliminate completely.

I will have to keep seeing my corals pass away while a definite solution is found. :sad1:

Thank you again for your advise.

Recty,

Furthermore, based on what I have been reading, people tend to pay more attention to taking good care of them than eliminating them. It is fine, some species look great, but when you have made a big investment in your tank and you see it deteriorating on a daily basis, my point of view is that studies should move forward to give it a solution.

Some more helpful links...

This page has a picture of the nudibranchs in question and they look a lot like yours as far as the body structure goes... the color is off but I think that is just the picture sucks. http://www.reeffarmers.com/tracygraynudi01.htm

This page talks about type of fish that may eat the nudibranchs... http://www.worldwidereefers.com/forums/showthread.php?2975-Nudibranch-Eating-Wrasses

Here's another thread about it.

Se parecen a algunos nudibranquios culo raro ... No del todo lo que yo esperaba, y de nuevo la nudibranquios más grandes serían fácilmente exterminados ...
