So i recently built a 20G L sump tank, im looking to buy and in sump skimmer but am not sure where to start, ive gone through a cheap one, recently had a sea clone and was not a huge fan. I would like to spend around 100$ for it. Any advice would be great, thanks.

How many gallons total do you have in your system? Check here on RC, you can find some good deals in the Used Equipment & Drygoods Selling forum.

Euro-reef makes a nice skimmer and ASM are nice knock off's of Euros at a discounted price. The skimmer is the heart of your system and you may want to up your budget. In the grand scheme of things, a C note is pocket change compared to what you'll be spending on fish, corals, salt, lights, etc

This is going into a 50 gallon tank + 20 gallon sump.
Octopus are also euroreef knockoffs but at much better price point than ASM. A NW-110 or NW-150 would work with the 110 being a better match for your tank size, IMO. Reefwarehouse and Marinesolutions will get you the best pricing, including shipping. Reefwarehouse has them in stock now and Marine solutions will have the 110 in next week. I am not sure about the 150.

Can you tell I just bought one? :p

lpsluver, did you get the 150 for your 90?
The 90 has an ASM G3 on it from a previous tank (180). I will be running the NW-110 on my RSM in a custom sump being made as we speak.

Edit: I just went back and reread my post and see why you thought what you did about the 150. Sorry about the confusion.

Lpsluver - what is the site for marine solutions, i was taken to a few yacht site's unfortunetly cant buy one of those.

Everyone seems to like their Octopus skimmers. I have an ER and a CSS. I would love to buy another ER, but budget will probably have me looking at Octopus myself. The CSS does a good job, but it freaks out and overflows once in a while. Way too unpredictable for an important piece of equipment.
