I HAVE 12 DWARF SEA HORSES AND ONE OF THE MALES POUCH LOOKS LIKE A BALLOON AND HE IS JERKY AND TWITCHY AND HIS POUCH OPENS ALL THE WAY THEN CLOSES AND HES BREATHING REAL HARD.... ?????

since you copped an attitude in a later thread about no one answering......i have an answer for you....
"I don't know why". I have 2 reidi's and 4 erectus's. never had this problem.

Hi,
H zosterae will do a little "shimmy" when courting and mating and any seahorse will be breathing more rapidly when mating.
Is this possibly what you are seeing in this little male? You say he is opening his pouch so we know it's not air in the pouch.
Could you please list your water perams, including temp. A little more information would really help to determine what the problem is.
