I have a RBTA that I really like, but it has went from the top of my tank to the bottom and has attached to my squamosa clam.... Doesn't seem to be making the clam mad yet, but it does look like it is trying to get inside the shell...

As much as I like the RBTA, I like the clam more. How do I get the RBTA off the clam shell and save both..

Please help ASAP

It might be looking for some shade. Did you acclimate it to your lights? You should try to get it off the clam by pointing a powerhead to it or the ice trick. Try to place it between some LR where it can retract and hide from the light.
I'm not an expert but it's what I would do.

How do I aim it at the foot, without really stressing the clam with all the flow, and to keep the RBTA from trying to get into the clam shell?

I am not sure about it trying to find shade, it has been moving everywhere in the last few weeks. It went for months and didn't move, now it has been like a crazy deal on how much it moves

I tried the flow on it for a while last night, and no real luck with that, but did not do it real long, just because I didn't want to stress out the clam. I have moved it back to what I think is a shaded area. If that doesn't work, I will put it up under my one rock scape for a few days. If all else fails, the ice cube will be my next try

I thought about the credit card. I moved it under my rock tonight, so we will see what happens by the time I get home from work in the morning

lol xD

I vote for the ice trick. It's worked for me so far every time I've tried it. I don't have a spare powerhead to try the other thing, so I woudln't know about that one. Good luck, hope all turns out well. Can we see a pic of the nem and clam? It kinda sounds humorous if there was no danger..lol I have a strawberry anemone on one of my hermit crabs.

I can try to get a pic for sure. I tried the other day and couldn't find the camera in time with batteries. It was the RBTA all bubbled up, the clam wide open, and the crab all hanging out in the corner of the tank. The crab really stands out being so white and bright.
