just changed to a tencor 240 acrylic is the front of the tank suposed to bow al little about a inch never had a acrtlic so please help me and let me know asap im just waiting for a reply

What thickness of acrylic? I think just under 1/2" would be reasonable for an 8' tank with 1/2" acrylic. I had a 370 with 3/4" acrylic and I bet the center bowed just under 1/2"...

EDIT: Nevermind, the guy who built my tank posted in your thread, so I'll shut up:lol: You are in good hands with James!

1/2" is more than one would like to see but check all the seams to be sure they are intact and there are no separations. Next check the top bracing to see if there are any cracks. If all is well with the above, just keep an eye on it. If there are any structural problems with the above, contact the mfr immediately.

I've seen tanks that have bowed to the point of being distortive, give that "fish eye" appearance, yet hold water for many, many years. Not something you want to see mind you, but is an example of the strength.

1/2" of deflection is more than mfrs shoot for but not unsafe in and of itself. 1" deflection on a 24" high would be a whole together different story and would mean something is wrong.

HTH,
James

P.S. Hi Mr Hop, hope you are well :)

24hrs and all is well i check all the seems and the top of the tank no cracks man did the bowing scare me every thing is doing great thanks for all the advice
