Help please. Sand removed during cleaning

Pinch the vacuum gravel hose to adjust the flow for finer sand. You will still pull out the "brown dust" and the sand will stay.

Hahaha wow... I had a fine sand bed for years and never even considered pinching the tube.

Oh well, have reef flakes now so not a problem anymore

You can slow it down, speed it up ,whatever you want.
