Hello friends
I have problem with algae hair about 7months I get this algae with some coral that I buy and in begging I don't recognise that is hair algae it's grow slow and slow before a two months it's grow fast and kill a lot of my coral and I have all the way phosphate 0.03 and nitrate 0 I use nopox and all other tests it's stability in all the way after a cycle at today and I don't know who kill here I read that maybe a scraber can help I have refugium 7 months with cheato and this grow every week fast I have 70 liter refugium and my tank is 380 liter with sump so maybe scraber can help me kill this algae I see that Santa Monica have good scrubbers maybe some one know if it's help and if yes what model I should buy to resolve my problem ?

Yes an algae turf scrubber(not scraber) can help, but it will take time. When I implemented a scrubber it took about 4 to 6 months for it to finally out compete the GHA in my DT.

Scrubbers are base on how much you feed regardless of tank size. Figure out how much you feed a day, then size the scrubber to that amount.

Not sure who's killing who though, or who you want to kill?

Punctuation goes a long way when typing. One giant run on sentence is really tough to read, or comprehend when combined with typo's.

How bad is it exactly? If you're phosphate is that low and you have chaeto I imagine just manually removing it will do the trick.

The chaeto is the "king of the garden" but you still need to remove weeds from time to time. Eventually that maintenance will be become less and less because you're allowing the chaeto to hog the nutrients and the other algae won't have much of a chance.

This!

Although I tend to just respond to the question and not dive to much into what or why.

IMO and IME chaeto will not out compete GHA. In my tank the GHA grew right over the top of the chaeto strangling it out.

Hes obviously from another country man. Just do your best to decifer.

Agree, people forget this site reaches other countries, respect should be given for those asking for help w/ tank for the tanks sake

I do agree with you though on principal. Especially if english is their first language.
