sorry for so many questions, I've never had sick fish before.

I currently have Ich, and I am trying to set up my QT. I saw at lunch today that my trigger now has cloudy eyes, and my 6 line wrasse has a swollen belly and is sluggish. These are all bad signs I know. Question is what do I treat with? Hypo-salinity and what else?

Hypo for the ich, but what about the swollen belly? should I use Maracyn Two? Can I use this with the hypo? or one at a time? I hope it's not to late.

Mish, can we get some more info on your system, like how big it is, and what the water parameter readings are? Sometimes issues like cloudy eyes can start with a scratch or trauma, or just stress, but get worse because of water quality. If you improve this, it can get better in some cases, though not all; I tend to like to go less aggressive first if there is something you can change.

The belly... is this a case of just a big belly, or are the scales puffed out with a pine-cone appearance when viewed from above? Sometimes fish can get "swollen looking" for not-so bad reasons; if it has that pinecone look, it's usually worse, as it known as dropsy (which is pretty bad, and usually a sign of organ failure and fluid accumulation within the inner body cavities, the equivilent of ascites in people).

In the meantime, definitely work on setting up the hospital tank.

I'm guessing it is stress do to ich. Only my bi-color pseudo and my trigger are showing ich. All other fish were eating and acting normal until today. (Coral Beauty and blenny seem fine.)

The six line wrasse is the one I'm most worried about. He is slow and did not eat today, and his belly looks bloated. I will place him in a QT when I get home, I just don't know what to treat the belly with.

As for the large QT for everything else (to take care of ich) I am mixing water and getting the filter up to par.

Man this happened fast.

Mish, still don't know what bloated means to you. It could just be a blockage, happens sometimes... if it's not that dropsy appearance, that is.

I do agree ich is stressing all the fish out... good luck on the QT. When problems arise, they can happen fast. Any new additions to this tank recently?

Yes, I have added the wrasse two weeks ago. So he is the new-b. His scales are not puffed out yet, I have seen this on a friend's fish. The belly looks like he is pregnant. He's not eating, and that bothers me.

The ich is not from him. I was stupid and followed my LFS advice on the ich, and I'm paying for it now. "all tanks have it, it will go away"

I broke rule #1. Never listen to the LFS.
