Help plumbing

I have a 120 gal main tank. I am going to add a 60 gal tank to the system, that will be on a stand right next to the main display.

How should I plumb the two tanks together?

My sump is under the main display with the protien skimmer.

The 60 gal tank is going to serve as a refugium.

All I can think of is to place a pump in the sump (same compartment as the skimmer) and run that to the 60 gal and have that flow back to the sump into the compartment that has my return to the main display.

Is there an easier way?

Are both tanks the same height? If so about the only thing you can do is add the second tank to the first sump. If you can put the second tank up higher than the first tank, you can pump up to the second tank and let it overflow into the first tank.

If you connect both tanks to the same sump, you will not want to have the drain into the return section. you will get bubbles. Put the return in the skimmer section just like your main tank, with the pump in the same return section.
