Guys, im trying to find some local help here, my overflow is way to loud and i need it to queieten down. Ive been doing some research on the durso standpipes , but i cannot afford to make one. I do however have something i could toss you in return. Weather it be a piece of live rock, sof coral, or an invert. Someone out there please help me. i am in the north knoxville area.
My name is steven and my number is 865 582 6325

hey there! welcome!! i love your name btw...

i'm not the plumbing guru in our household, my husband is, but he came up with something that i think was fairly simple to quiet ours down. you can't hear hardly anything with our tank. i'll see if i can get him "in here" to explain what he did.

btw, you know about the swap coming up in a couple weeks, right? hope to see you there!

Yes, the swap is next weekend correct? Its gonna be on Saturday the 19th i belive... which is also my wife's birthday, my parents are also coming down from up north.
I started my mom a reef take 2 years ago and she is anxious to go to the swap.
Ive been looking at this design.

Seems VERY basic, just dont have the elbow or T fitting. Ive got the standard pipe. Wife is at work right now and im stuck at home with my son, this noise is driving me insane, makes me not even wanna be in my living room. My tank has been setup for over 2years and i guess im finnally at that point where it needs to shut up. lol

glad you can make it to the swap! i can't wait to see it all come together.

ok, heard from el husbando and he did a diagram for you. see if this makes sense. if not he can explain more after 2pm.

You could go BP on it and just try and throw some golf balls maybe some uhh aluminum cans in that bad boy. It should quiet down for ya ;0

Why would i throw golf balls or aluminum cans in my overflow?...........
Noty:(

On a brighter note, i picked up the T connector a 90 elbow and a cap.
This thing is noiseless:) :)

If you need further muffling, place a folded towel over the top of you overflow area (secured so it doesn't fall in). That worked great on mine in the past before I added the Stockman muffler.
