My power is going out for an hour or two today because of construction and I won't be there. I have a 29 gallon hang on the back redsea skimmer and one maxijet 400. My question is do you think everything will be alright without any power to my tank for an hour or two??? Thanks

Honestly, you can find cheap UPSs with dead batteries in craigslist, then buy a new battery on eBay for cheap. You can probably find some of the dumber (no management or stat systems) UPSs in walmart for close to $30. Well worth it if you only keep your filters and other life support systems on it.

uninterruptible power supply. Keeps things powered up while the electricity is out, at least until the battery in the UPS dies.

They're typically sold for computers (NewEgg is a good site for such things), so that's where you're most likely to find them.

Somehwat harder to find, and highly recommended if you're going to be running a motor of any kind off of one, is one that provides a true sine wave output (called PSW, or TSW for Pure/True Sine Wave). I've had good luck with those made by CyberPower: CyberPower UPS at NewEgg

Should be alright, I would get a computer power supply with an internal battery though. It will last plenty long just running a single powerhead to maintain the oxygen levels in the water.
