help pygmy angelfish

was thinking about getting a pygmy angelfish but not to sure about the reef compatable

i second that. what kind of corals do you keep. the main thing you need to watch out for are your meaty looking corals (brains and scolys) and zoas/palys. possibly clams as well, but i hear more problems on the LPS side.

zen knows what he is talking about. LPS/clam mantles are gone. SPS will be bothered but not killed. There is some luck to it as well, some may leave everything alone, but I tend to find this hard to believe. Short term at least some will leave coral alone ;c). Smaller the better for reef tanks in general.

I've had a Potters for 3 yrs now. He is pretty good sized and somewhat of a bully to new tank mates. He dosen't chew on my corals but will take a small nip but does no real damage. I have several LPS colonies, a large brain coral, and a clam. The tank also has SPS and a large toadstool. I think the real key is to keep him stuffed with mysis and nori. If you ask anyone that has seen my tank they will tell you all my fish are well fed. The angel is almost round LOL.
Its still a gamble regardless and they are nearly impossible to catch once in a reef.

i had a potter's as well that was a good citizen. he never touched any of my corals. sadly he died in a transportation accident. i would love to find a nice, feeding new one. that said, potter's are difficult to keep, and i do not recommend anyone buying one without understanding their care.
