Help resecting hammer coral & frags

I have a beautiful green branching hammer that is super healthy. It is over growing some of its neighbors and I certainly don't want to lose other corals for it. It is currently larger than a football.
It sits about 28" down in the tank (too deep to reach with conventional nippers). I am not sure how to best resect parts of it.
Any ideas would be appreciated. I was thinking of using a small tree branch lopper to get the reach.
I also don't want to waste what could be a beautiful additions to other tanks.
Let me know if you have experience with this and/or if you'd be interested in frags of it. I am in ocean county.
Thanks.
