help setting up a 10 gal cube

im just in the process of setting up my 10 gallon nano cube. im just woundering what is the easyest filter setup without having a sump? is there anyway to just have a hang on back filtration?

I know Ive seen some people do it.

Ive seen some turn a H.O.B. filter into a fuge and some just use live rock or carbon in them.
