It was given to me by the guy that sold me his tank. its about the size of 2 softballs, and has been in my tank about a month.

this morning, i see about 1/5 of it is weirdly discolored, now a couple hours later its almost half discolored!!! I have a feeling by morning it'll completely changed. whats going on??? all other lps looks great. (brain, plate, frogspawn, acans, favias etcetc)

i know your going to ask... so..

salinity 1.025
calcium- 410
alk- 8.0
ph.. havent tested this week but its most likely 8.2
nitrite,ammonia - 0
nitrate- 5
phos - undetecteable

all salifert tests

hope u can help. its a nice chunk of coral!!

2 questions:

1) Is there another coral next to the area that is lightening up? Could be chemical warfare

2) Is there a ton of flow on that side?

the closest thing to it is a plate coral, but its a good 4 inches away. and this is happening fast

yeah theres tons of flow everywhere, tunze nano streams

but its been fine for a month this seems overnight... *looking now* hmmm.... it APPEARS to all be the same color, brite orange.. with a flashlight im using. hafta wait till morning to be sure. thats even weirder then isent it??

I've been following your post in the nem forum about your new rbta. I know you just got it within the last couple days, could this have anything to do with it?
I wouldn't know what exactly, but that new addition may fit the time frame you're looking at.
Just a thought - good luck!

it does fit the time frame, but the nem never touched it, and i already have 1 other bta so its unlikely. im waiting foir the light to come on and see whats going on today.

I figured it was a long shot, but the timing was so coincidental I thought I'd mention it :)
Hope it's looking better today! It looks like a really nice piece.
