Doug is right, FAR more goes into public uses, then ever has enterred the trade in it's entirety. 1 airport takes more then 15 years of MO exports. 1 road wall takes a years worth of MO exports. They should concentrate on bigger and better things then LR. Just another case of a B in a bonnet.

In addition to the above, the cosmetic and pharma industry! The amount of live rock we use in our little tanks is a grian of sand compare to corp. industry. Think about that!

Hi all,

I would not find it surprising that a company that is involved in
the sale in some way of Florida live rock is promoting such a
petition. However I think everyone should consider the source.
Read all the pages associated with the organization before
you "sign on". As I recall much of what they say is closer to hyperbole than fact in my humble opinion.

More should be done in the way of aquacultured live rock. There are a ton of hoops and red tape to get through, before you can lease ocean bottom for live rock culture here in FL. There are also regulations on what type of non-indigenous rock you can use. If they really want to help, they should petition the State of FL to relax their rules on aquaculturing rock off FL shores.
