HELP - tank transfer issue

So my tank cracked and water started leaking out. I'm left with two options - fill a new tank I went out and bought right before petco closed with tap water and old salt I have (I also bought quick start and argonite sand). Or keep all the fish in the old tank with little water. Only issue with the current water is I accidentally unplugged my filter and it shot months worth of uneaten mysis shrimp into the water that was sucked up. I don't know what the greater evil is - decomposition of the mysis or the tap water for the next 16 hours.

Prime will make it fish safe but there could still be copper, slim chance but not impossible. Grocery / distilled is your safest choice.

Just use tap water (and prime) or buy some water from the grocery store to avoid tap..

Thank you. One other question - They're all settled in the new tank with RODI water. The new sand is currently settling. I've held off on feeding them because I have no method of filtration and the bacteria numbers are presumably low. They were fed two days ago before the tank broke. Should I feed everyone today or give it another day?

Feed them. How long would you want to go without food when moving into a new home. Fish in the wild eat virtually constantly.
