HELP!!!Tips on how to make clown fish spawn.

well you really cant "MAKE" clownfishes spawn. they do it on their own when they're ready. they have to be mature enough, be in a steady and unstressful environment, and even then, its not 100% that they will spawn. the book "Clownfishes" by Joyce Wilkerson is a good read. good luck.

make them feel safe, helps to have a nem to have as a host. feed them 3 to 4 times a day and keep the temp around 82. female should be atleast twice the size of the male. i never seen a pair lay that the female wasnt alot bigger than the male. femals usually lays eggs around 2 years of age, possibly later. rule of thumb 2" or 2 years old. mose likely is 3" or 3 years old.
these are the basic frst steps that you can do. the rest is up to them. all you can do is make them feel safe, feed them alot and play some barry white!

i just started a thread on my two clowns i think they might be starting to mate? they are not like 3hornet said twice the size as female two male.....i think they are only about a year old got them from pet store 8 months ago at 3/4" now about 2" and 2.5" .....they are doing a shutter against each other.(only when im in front of tank)

There is a really good thread on another reef forum... One for say nano-reef(s) (Not sure if I am allowed to link to it). Anyway, the guy has started breeding Clownfish. He now had multiple pairs spawning regularly.

Here is what he suggest to do/ is doing to get them to spawn:
1) slowly lower your salinity (around 1.020)
2) raise the tank temp to around 82-84
3) feed them a lot, 3-4 times a day

I guess these are supposed to signal breeding time of year to clownfish.

Can't really tell you why, but one summer my Ocellaris pair that I had for years decided to spawn 3 times - just one batch of eggs after another. They didn't even have an anemone, just a large mat of zoas that grew into their preferred area.

My salinity was a little low though, as M3Shark mentioned.
