Help to ID this

Hi guys! I'm new to the hobby and possibly have committed a grave mistake if I bought an anemone instead of a mushroom! Can anyone help see if this is a Green Ricordea Mushroom or a Sebae Anemone? Thanks and keeping my fingers crossed!

Possibly, will need to wait until it opens back up. To me it appears to be a ricordea and not a sebae anemone.

Where did you get the idea it might be a sebae nem instead?

It did open up actually and was twice the size which is why I suspected it was not a mushroom this morning. https://vimeo.com/131864595 not sure if this clip helps to identify it more.

Quite possibly a Sebae, and a bleached one at that. It is definately NOT Ricordia.

It's possible, I'm just not sure as closed up as it is. But indeed either way it is bleached badly.

I can vouch for this one Dkuhlmann lol it definitely is a sabae...a really bleached one that is. Hope he didn't look like that when you first got him?

He came back like that, but the green tips were highlighted at the LFS due to the Ancitic lights they used, so I thought it was a green Ricordea. What should I do now? Get a clown fish to help it acclimatize?

Yea I would try to take it back...if they won't take it back...which I have a hard time believing they wont...then try and trade it to a local reefer? Maybe someone will trade you for a ricordia or another type of mushroom?

Well again sort of and maybe.

Does it have a foot like anemone's have? Like in a stalk ever? The ricordea don't have these I'm pretty sure but the sebae will. To explain what I mean a little better like the stalk on a toadstool.

Yes it does. And it moved slightly from the original position. But the poor thing looks so bleached with a gaping mouth. I feel like trying to nurse it back to health but my tank is too new.

100% anemone and 100% not ricordea.
