I recently bought a Vortech MP20 here on RC.
It worked great for about 2 or 3 weeks. I loved it so much that I then bought a battery backup for it. After hooking up the battery backup, I charged the battery up and then powered down the MP20 to test the battery... Everything was fine.
However, once the Battery Backup kicks in, it is necessary to reconfigure the pump settings (this is normal because the pump runs at a reduced constant speed). It was here that I had the problem.
When I restarted the pump, I heard a whinning noise coming from the wetside portion... After cleaning, in vinnegar, I tried again and then it would continue to whine, or not work at all....
I contacted Ecotech, and they said seized bearing/driveshaft, which they promptly sent out a replacement...
Now the wet side is vibrating and stalling and locking up (not moving smoothly). I loosened the nut and it works but then tightens up on its own... GRRRR
Can anyone help?
