I had this tread in fish only tread but I need advise from large tank owners please. I have a 96l x 36t x24d 360 gal freashwater, would like to convert to saltwater, I have two friends w130 gal to take my fresh water fish, so I have lots of time I need comments on my system and what need for the convet.
current system
-panworld ps250 w 2x nuclear carbon/pleated canisters 1900g/h
-mak4 1x nuclear bio canister and red sea 1000w heater 1100g/h
-air tubes put into water outlets-bubble spray.
-hagen power glow lights 18000k
I am on a limited buget so I tried to find the best products/for price
equiptment to buy
-aqua c ev400 protien skimmer
-cpr cr3000 wet dry filter
-(or go with crp cy294 system sump+skimmer in one package to replace above, this skimmer system uses air stones -not sure if I like that.)
-koralin sulfer based biodenitrator s3002
-2x coralife pc 48" 4x65w 2antic 2 10000k
or 4x 250 mh-20.000make fit in my canopy now-not sure if I like the blue color--I perfer Whiter light
custom over flow 1600g\h to fit euro rim
change canisters around
-fill one entirely with carbon
-have one with only pleated 100 micron
-use red sea inline 1000w heater
-keep bio canister as spare
-use panworld ps250 to resupply to tank from sump and have canisters after to reduce some flow-the panworld can over power the overflow.
-use the mak 4 to power the protien skimmer.
I know that canisters are not usually used, but nuclear states that they sell lots for marine systems.
Also is there any tough coral or pulps that you can keep with triggers , groupers and angels?
