water flow, water changes, gfo, lighter feedings and brightwell microbac7 is what kicked it for me, I had about 50-75% coverage on everthing in my biocube 29
I believe the good bacteria out competing bad was the kick in cyanos pants
its not a quick process but you will win

Nothing eats cyano. I believe it's toxic, so all livestock stay away from it...

They make quick fixes that mask the issue temporarily, but unless you find out the cause, it'll definitely be back.

Post number 4 has some good information. My last outbreak with the stuff was a result of my RODI filters needing to be changed. Are you using RODI water?

I'm not using RODI water so i think thats my problem.

Give it a try with some SW mixed with RODI water instead. If you don't have an RODI filter yet, most grocery stores have one where you can buy it by the 5 gallon load.

Chemiclean will get rid of it, but only temporarily. Up to you if you want to try it or not. Either way, I think you will have better luck if you get to the root of the issue...

Check phosphate and nitrate. If those are elevated, you'll want to reduce them. I had cyano creep up on my at about the year mark, and diligent water changes with manual removal and vacuuming sand finally took care of it (it did take a about 2 months). You definitely want to use RODI water whether you have your own unit and mix your own water or buy saltwater from a reputable LFS.
