It looks like some kind of fungus. But I did notice some tiny 1mm long worms in it last night. Only noticed this last night. Coral looked fine until then.

Not sure what this is and what to do about it!

Last water test was a week ago and results were as follows:

SG: 1.026
PH: 8.1-8.2
Amonia: 0-0.25 (hard to tell)
Nitrate: 8ppm
Alk: 7.8
Mag: 1360
Ca: 470
Phos: 0

I did start dosing NoPox about 2 weeks if that changes anything.

Hard to tell what exactly your referring to in the picture but if its the white stuff down between the last branch and 2 right branches then it might be a sponge. Very hard to tell from that picture tho. It doesn't look like anythings bleaching, it looks like your loosing polyps in general. If you think the sponge is causing the coral not to open up, take it out and use a toothbrush to remove it. Do so in a bucket with some of your tank water, make sure you rinse all the left overs off.

Its often called reef junk when corals come in from the wild with all sorts of weird things growing on their skeltons, I just scrub it off if I'm not sure what it is.

I don't think it's a sponge. It appeared out of knowhere overnight and is affecting the coral. It's been in my tank for 6 months, doing great up until this point.

Can you get a better up close picture then? Take the coral out either way and scrub it off then, your saying its effecting the coral so get it gone before it kills it entirely!

"When in doubt, take it out"

Yeah, I'll get a pic later tonight. I'll take your advice and remove the growth as well. I should have thought of that myself.
