Help! White spider web on Zoas?

During my nightly overview I noticed this stringy, spiderweb-like crap on a few of my zoa polyps. I don't know what the consistency is yet, if it's slime or a hard substance. Does anyone have any idea just from looking? What the heck is it? How do I get rid of it? How worried should I be? A few of my euphyllias were a little shrunken, but it was at night. Last parameters were 0 ammonia, nitrites. Nitrate 2ppm pH 8.2 Alk 7.3dKH Cal 400ppm (waiting on getting my first Triton analysis for full info)

Sorry for extra post (can't seem to edit posts) Salinity is 1.025sg Temp 79-81F. The system has been up since May. Just noticed this stuff on the zoas last night. The zoa rock has been in my system about a week. I dipped in Bayer and Coral Revive prior to putting it in. Everything seemed alright this week until last night.

Thanks mcgyvr. Since it's "usually" harmless, what should I watch out for to make sure it doesn't become a problem? How would I go about removing it? Should I do another dip or what? I'd like to use as little Bayer as possible (bad experience, ugh) Should I use coral revive?

It terms of what you should look out for is rapid growth and spread to the point that it is smothering corals. Sometimes sponges die off on their own, sometimes exposing them to air will kill them, sometimes they take over a tank and destroy it (rare). I would attempt to manually remove it outside the tank with a scraper or something of the sort if you notice it spreading quickly.

I would pry it off the rock and squash it so it spreads. Great for water quality and they grow under rocks most of the time.
