Help with 180 bow

Krazy

In Memoriam
I am moving on the 31'st.

I need to get my tank in the basement of my new place, it looks as if it got wet down there at some point.

Can I put solid cement blocks down on the floor, then my stand on top of the solid block?

Of course I would shim and make sure its 100% level.

Just dont wanna worry about the stand gettin wet if it were to ever get wet down there...

Please advise me with weither or not this is OK to do?

thanks,
Keith

If you use blocks I would think it would be alright as long as you laid enough down to support the whole tank and not just at the corners.
if your tank is 2'x6' lay down the block in the same matter.

Thanks for the reply,

I planned on doing the blocks 72" long by 24" width solid, not just the edges.

This will be ok ?

:)

Thanks,
Keith

I would put some kind of waterproofing on the blocks.
Concrete blocks will wick water upward and would still wet your stand if not protected.

Gary is right. The block will slowly wick. You can use a waterprofing. Why is there water in the basement? I would try and figure that out. I wouldnt want standing water at the foundation. This can cause structural problems let alone the mold concerns.:eek1:
