Help with blue jaw trigger

Any tricks on getting a blue jaw trigger to eat? I have had mine for 2 weeks now. I had him in the main tank and he never came out and to swim around or eat. He is getting very weak and will likely die soon. I moved him to a large section in the sump. He has about a 30g section to himself. I was hoping I could get him to eat and get healthier before returning to main tank. I soak all food in garlic and vitamins with no luck. Anything else I can do?

What have you tried? I alternate in my tank: brine, baby brine, plankton (SFBB), emerald entree, squid, omega brine, mysis, and freeze-dried cyclopeeze. I would recommend the SanFranBB plankton, as Xanthichthys triggers are planktivores and the pieces are essentially about the size of small shrimp. 1/8-1/4". My fish go nuts over them. The only thing my firefish will eat other than my cyclops.

I have tried cyclopeeze, brine, mysis, emerald entree, Marine cuisne, rods food, flake, pellets.

My Blue Thoat was a voracious eater. (watch your fingers!)

He ate a wide variety of chopped fresh frozen seafood. Go to the grocery store and find a bag of frozen assorted things. Shrimp, clams, squid, octopus. Thaw and chop into smallish bits.

I think that's a good idea. Something else you could try is a small piece of fresh squid, clam, oyster, anything of that nature.

Just to ask : Did he eat when you purchased him ?

I got him online.

I got him to take a bite or 2 by holding it right in front of his mounth. I will try again tomorrow.
