I recently set up a new acrylic tank and after a month, noticed the bottom was sagging pretty bad so last week I got some jacks (that are used to level out a 5th wheel trailer) and pushed up the bottom and braced it in 4 spots. When taking out the sag, my Blue tang was hiding in the rocks and stupid me didn't think anything of it. The next day I noticed she still wasn't coming out so I tried to entice her out with some Mysis Shrimp. Nothing. So after looking for her awhile I found her pinned between the rocks and got her out. She had a few indentations on her side, by her top fin where the rock was smashing her. That was last Sunday. The indentations went away the next day but there was a blackish yellow spot there, looked like a bruise...then a few days later it turned black like a burn. Thursday, it started to look like a black scab peeling off with white fleshy stuff coming off. Now this morning I checked on her and it's a HUGE hole in her side all white and fleshy.
At this point I'm not sure if it's healing itself or getting worse. I've had her for a long time now and I'd hate to make her suffer, but I really don't want to put her down if she is just healing. She's been swimming against a Koralia 4 powerhead ALL DAY, everyday and occasionally swims through the tank, but wont eat anything. I fished her out this morning and put her in the sump where there is less flow and lots of chaeto to eat if she wants. I'll go snap a few pics of her today but this is what she looked like Wednesday...:worried2:
