Hi there. I'm new to Reef keeping and I just got myself a orca 24g tank and sump. Its all plumbed in and have the temp at 26 and sg at 1.025 / 26 I just got 20lbs of Aragalive sand and 10kg of Ultra Fiji live rock from STM and my tank is full lol even had to put a bit in the sump and the rock looks very nice, well not right now as I have just put it in the tank any old way until I get it the way I like. There is one problem today when I got in from work the water was cloudy this was before I put the sand and rock in do you know what the problem could be. The only thing I left in the back of the tank was the black spung thing any help would be cool. oh one more thing do i leave the light on during the day when its cycling
cheers Johnny

Could be a bloom; not uncommon with a new tank. Get your self a UV sterlizer and add a unit of Chemi Pure. That will clear up your water right quick.

If it were me I would let the water circulate for a couple of days. New tanks can be cloudy for a bit if new rock/sand was just added to the system. Post some pics

Right on Alphabet

A common problem with any new tank. Rather than adding a costly UV filter and treating with chemicals give it a little time. If you wish, run a canister filter with a micron polishing element to speed things up.

Thanks guys for the help I think i will let it run its cycle and see how it works out. I will have to get somewhere on the net to put my photos before I can put them on the form. If enyone knows a good place please let me know ;) What about the light will I leave it on during the day.
