Help with clownfish!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can keep 4 oc clowns in one tank at one time...its probably the only species of clownfish that you can do that with. Check out some of the breeder tanks that have 50-60 specimens in the same tank. I agree most clowns should never be put in more than a pair.

Well, not exactly. In the short term you can keep multiple clowns in a breeder tank, but once they have establish a territory, and start to sexually mature, you will end up with two.

I have a goby that stays in the QT so the cycle never stalls. Like I said the water is almost identical to my DT so obviously there is no ammonia.

Also i stated they were juvi's, there was 0 aggression and they were very small. Also I NEVER intended to keep them in the same tank long enough for them to mature OR claim territory.

Thanks for your help but please don't preach at me because you ignored what i have ALREADY stated.

Also I didn't ask for your opinion on the Clown Tang nor did I ask for a smart *** comment. There are some people that have luck with clown tangs in tanks as small as 75 gallons. Not only that I intend to upgrade tanks very soon and right now he is only 3 inches.

Sorry for the rant but i am sick and tired of the TANG POLICE and people that would rather make themselves look good than actually help.

I hope none of that was directed at me. I am actually trying to help and I stated that I am not trying to belittle anyone or stand on a soapbox. I am just trying to give some food for thought here before you purchase your next clownfish as I doubt any of these will make it. My current (except for my 10 year old female) clowns all came directly out of the breeders tanks at sustainable aquatics and went straight into my display as I knew they were healthy.

I wouldn't necessarily put everything snorvich said on the back burner either as he is a very successful fishkeeper and a respected member of this community whether you like his tone or not. A clown tang isn't a wise choice for a 90. I am not coming down on you so don't take it that way. It just seems that there are some bad choices being made here that can effect the outcome of your success and that maybe you should reevaluate these choices seeing how you are asking for help.

There is basically nothing that can be done for the fish in question and we are trying to help with the fish you obtain in the future.

You never once until it was questioned stated that the 4 clowns were only going to be in QT together, this is what you stated;

. In that statement, only doing this for QT was NEVER mentioned, so this comment, "Thanks for your help but please don't preach at me because you ignored what i have ALREADY stated." is wrong.

I would like to see a 75 that has successfully kept a clown tang long term.

But since advice is going to be ignored, even if you have withheld very important information, I am going to bow out of this thread.

Todd obviously you missed this part.

These were juvi's and very small......My intention was not to keep them in the same tank after QT anyways. 2 were supposed to go in my sons tank and the other in my wifes tank. I understand that you can't keep more than 2 clowns after they mature unless you have a very large tank and more than one anemone.

Then and only then did CEEGEE and snorvich make their reply's that I was referring to in my last post.

Lastly I made my rant.....seems that you have conveniently left out other parts of the thread.

CEEGEE and snorvich it was not my intention to call either one of you out. In fact I do appreciate your help and suggestions. My point was this: the whole thread was supposed to be about how to treat the clownfish not how big of a tank I had for the clown tang.

Todd, I have noticed that some members here think that their opinion is gold and should be treated as such. Also there is nothing here that should make you believe advice would be ignored. I asked for advice not preaching.

I would like to just drop it and move on with the original subject.
