Help with denitrator!

Hello I have a question for you.

I have a Sulfur denitrifier XL from midewestaquatic.
I have a 300 gallons system.

Always the output smell sulfur from the unit.
I drip rate is high ( around 8 drops/second). the NO3 level from the unit is 0.
once I increased the drip rate, ( 10 or 12 drops/second). but the NO3 level, begun to increase, and go back to 8 drops/second.
What I have to do??

thank you

i believe that once you increase the drip rate, it may take some time for the bacteria to "catch up" ... in addition, i have read where some people reduced the amount of sulfur media and that helped

Reactor takes time to catch up the increase in effluent. But if the effluent NO3 is lower or much lower, you won't have problem, just increase the effluent until the smell is gone. The effluent NO3 doesn't need to be 0ppm, as long as it is much lower than the tank NO3 then your tank will get to 0ppm in sometime.

What is the nitrate level in your tank? If it is near zero, then it would be best to rinse the sulphur in clean freshwater, and re set it up with a bit less media. The sulphur smell can also come from the media being clogged up in the reactor, and the rinse will help this. Make sure your recirc pump on the top of the unit is working and not clogged also.

The smell becomes present when the bacteria in the sulphur media runs out of nitrates to consume. This can be due to low incoming nitrates or bad circulation thru the media.
