Help with devils hand leather

Is my devils hand dropping a finger? It turned white at the base where it looks like its tearing itself. The tissue around it is darker like its separating itself. Sorry for the shotty pic.

Looks like it. Mine dropped one last month & looks to be dropping 2 more. Cuz, you know, I need more giant leathers in my rock-filled 55 :lmao:.

Mine has been doing it for almost 2 yrs now. Looks kinda ugly when its dropped about 5 or 6 in a row andall those white spots where they fell along with random large fingers here and there.

I did think something was wrong with the first one so I gave it to the LFS, but one finger stayed behind and started the process all over again.

Yeah, except it's just a 55 gallon! :lol:
I measured my large one last night while it was all angry because I was cleaning the tank...it's about 8x8 inches when angry! Tank is only 12" front to back! I took a couple pics with a measuring tape LOL. Even just looking at the pics with the measuring tape, it's hard to tell just how massive the thing is!

This is where it sits in the tank. That's a giant finger leather next to it, that also started out very small & was gotten at the same time.

Very nice softy tank, your leathers look tanner then most leathers, any special care?

They are quite tan, we figure it's the T5s maybe. Only thing I do that most people don't is I squirt them gently with the thaw water that I thaw the mysis in (tank water). They close right up on it & have had amazing growth being fed this way. Ignore the cabbage leather on the right, it was shedding LOL. It does that a lot more now that the devil's hand is so close to it.

Yes.my devils hand does the same thing when it drops a finger. Sushi girl nice tank!

I have a crown leather that does that all the time, there are little leather that pop up all over my tank.
