Help with DIY (Top Off, Nilsen Reactor, and Dosing Pump)

This is what I plan on doing and help / advise would be appreciated since I have never done this before.

- From the RODI unit it flows into a 5 Gallon Bucket that hangs on a hook from the basement rafter

- Inside the 5 Gallon Bucket is a Kent top off valve/system

- 2" from the bottom of the bucket a 1/4" hole drilled for 1/4" refrigerator hosing

- below the 5 Gallon bucket will be my homeade Nislen reactor in which the 1/4" refrigerator tubing from the 5 gallon bucket will gravity feed into.

- The reactor will be powered with a 600 maxijet and turned on every 4 hrs. for 10 mins.

- from the reactor it will go to a Kangaroo 324 dosing pump that will pump into my sump

Will this set up work??? should the pump go between the reactor and sump or top off water and reactor? How many times and for how long should I run the pump in reactor?

Or instead of making a Nilsen Reactor just use the 5 gallon bucket that I am currently using for top off water.

place a pump inside bottom of the 5 gallon bucket with timer since my 5 gallon bucket already has a top off switch valve. And just hook up the dosing pump from a 1/4" tube I will make near the top of the 5 gallon bucket that will flow into my sump.

Thanks in advance
Garrick

Rafters are used for roofs, I thought we went over this before, in your basement you have Floor Joists....sheeezzzz:)

If you want a good dosing pump see Rod get a Reef Filler I am going to get one soon and he uses them at his shop and they wont clog.

what I use is a 35 gal(Farm and Fleet) led tank with a mag 5 for mixing the kalk 15 min a day at midnight then I use a reef-filler(from Rod)for my evaporation works like a charm so far anyway

Sometimes we have floor trusses :p.

My set up is liek Whiirlys, A tank from farm in fleet set up with a Kent float switch connected to my RO (so I dont have to worry about shutting it down). A powerhead on a timer that sits at the bottom of the Farm&Fleet tank that comes on once a day to stir the kalk. And a reeffiller sucking from the farm and fleet vat(kalk vat) and dosing into my system. I seeled the holes where the powerhead, and reeffiller goes through, and keep the lid on the tank. A DIY kalk reactor that takes 5 minutes to build and set up, without eleventymillion buckets and tubes :bum: Also no float switches in the tank./sump to fail and potentially flood my system with fresh water (or kalkwasser).
