Heyas,
I've tried everything I can to contact Euro-reef with no luck. I'm not sure what I need besides the gate valve assembly to make my CS6-1 have a gate valve mod. I know the gate valve kit obviously
But do I need any of the riser pipes to go with it, if so what one????
Also I dont have room in-sump for the skimmer, unless I take over my fuge area which I dont want. Soooo, I have come up with a plan that I'm hoping should work, would just like others input on it.
Scottyc1 told me it is designed to run in 8 inches of water.....
I plan on using a rubbermaid bin...No not yours Linda  ..but one exactly like it. Putting a 1 inch bulkhead thru it at 8 inches from the bottom. Than putting a 3/4 bulkhead above the 8 inch mark just enough to be out of the water. The rubber maid will sit up on a small stool just high enough for the one inch bulkhead to be above the top of my sump tank. OK, now I will have the skimmer pump in my actual sump, hard piped to the 3/4 bulkhead, than connecting to the skimmer inlet on the inside of the rubbermaid(Skimmer body will be in the rubbermaid). The skimmer will drain off into the rubbermaid and overflow out the 1 inch bulkhead, (8 inches from the bottom),back into the sump. That way the skimmer is running in 8 inches of water as it should be, and I dont have to give up my fuge area. I know the design will work for the most part. I'm basically unsure if the stock SP2 skimmer pump can handle pumping overhead like a foot at most and not mess with the skimming. Any input and info is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan
