So I am currently in the process of setting up my 475g tank with a full fish room. I have been slowly framing the walls as I have time and I am almost done. Since the aquarium was delivered recently I put vapor barrier up on that wall and then had them put the aquarium in place. I am currently rethinking the front wall of the room where the aquarium sits. Do you guys think that the vapor barrier over the inside 2x4's with the seams and staple holes taped are adequate for both the wall the aquarium is against and the rest of the room? I am trying to avoid any water damage/water splash getting on surfaces that could mold. I am also trying to protect from the humid environment. The reason I ask, the aquarium and stand are ~1000-1500lbs empty so it is difficult to move back and work on the wall. The rest of the room I was considering green board and frp to make it as water resistant as possible. I will also have a room vent for the room and a dehumidifier. Any thoughts on just using vapor barrier. If not what else would you do? If you have a fish room what are on your walls?
Thanks in advance!
