help with fragging

I got brave today and figured I would try to move some mushrooms onto a rock in my tank. They were on several sides of that plastic grid (egg crate?) stuff and I thought it was an eye sore. Removing them was pretty scary but they came off fairly easily. I used super glue gel to attach them to their new rock but I must have done something wrong as one of them has already detached and another is just barely hanging on. They dont look well. I know its just a couple of silly mushrooms but I really didn't want to kill them. And now I am wondering if I have some sort of toxic glue in my tank. I thought the gel superglue was ok?? Can anyone offer any ideas as to where I screwed up? Thanks for all of your advice. --Haley

I used bridal vail material from a hobby store, Hpbby Lobby or Micheals. cut a section out and placed if over the shroom where I wanted it. Then rubberbanded it down. Left it for a week or so and they attached themselves. I found the superglue gel not to work well on mushrooms since they slime up so much. It did work on my Xenia and yellow polyps though.

Superglue Gel is fine and not a poison. Mushrooms slime up so bad that it seldom works like you would want. You mushrooms should be fine. They've just gone through a bit of shock. Give them a little time for them to get back to normal.

Something I have done in the past is to put some rubble and the mushroom inside a glass that is put into the tank. This keeps the flow from blowing the mushroom around and will let it attach on its own.
