Help with genx co2 regulator

Hello,

I recently purchase your korallin 1502 reactor package. Untill tonight all has been great. Tonight however I checked the bu counter and no bubbles. Next I checked the genx regulator. It said the co2 bottle was empty. This is very strange as the bottle has been showing full from setup (about 2 weeks). I checked all the connections were tight as well. I then checked the solonoid on the regulator and it was very warm, is this normal? Is it possible the regulator or solonoid leaked the co2? I am at a loss to explain this as the bottle literally read full less than 24hours ago. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Paul,

Check the actual tank first. Take the regulator off of the tank. Once you have it off crack the valve on top open just a little to make sure the bottle is indeed full. The solenoid on the rgulator does get very warm, so nothing to worry about there. When a bottle goes empty you hardly notice it on the actual gauge of the regulator until the very last minute, where it seems to drop down to almost nothing.

At any rate, just check the tank to see if the gauge is faulty or not, then we'll go from there.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Thanks jeremy. I will get a new tank this afternoon. With a 5lb tank, any idea what the gauges should read when full.

Thanks,
Paul

Thanks jeremy,

Found and solved problem :o .. I Had a fitting that was not totally tight (found with ivory soap :) a nice trick from the welder supply and other posters here), so all my fault. Thanks for the suggestions with the regulator.

Also, please please please carry the uri t5's..

Paul

Hey Paul, glad you got everything setup with it. It's amazing what a little soapy water will find wth air leaks! :)

We will have the URI T5's as soon as they hit the market. We are in very close contact with URI on these, so there shouldn't be much delay once they come out.

Thanks!
Jeremy

It sure is... I would never have thought there was a leak in that fitting. It was very very tight, a pair of pliars and a quarter turn is all it took.
