Really it is dying? any idea why?

Sometimes gorgonia recover from this type of damage. Try adding iodine or a trace element solution. A major water change will help with trace elements. Does it get fed? How is the light? Do the polyps still come out? What are your water parameters? You get better advice if you give more information.

mine did that aswell then died after bieng exsposed to air

Very difficult to keep. Non photo. Need a lot of supplemental feeding. Low success rate.

make sure you put it in an area with low intensity lighting, if the lighting is too strong, usually algae will over grow it and it will die. Normally gorgonians are hard to keep cause they require constant feeding and a special environment, good luck
