I have been running a FOWLR since I set up my tank but recently decided to start adding some corals. Two weeks ago I added a large green zoa which has been doing well. About 3 days ago I noticed that although they were opening up well, a hole was forming right in the middle of it. It has become progressively worse over the past three days with several holes forming in the mat.
The only thing that has changed in the past three days is that I starting turning off my skimmer for 5 hours at night and adding DT's phytoplankton(sp?) and Arctipods. I am running 2 Nova Extreme t-5s and have the zoo halfway down my 175 tank with a return blowing over it. My nitrates are under 10.
Sorry for the long post. Any idea what the problem might be?
