Help with hammer, please....

I have a green branching hammer whose polyps have been receding for about a week.

I've moved it out of direct light and flow already. I've also done 20% water change. This was a healthy established coral with 8 heads (9+ months in my tank) It has had moments where it has looked improved, but....

I now have occasional brown strings coming off the heads.

I know this is not good. Brown jelly disease....

I don't want to jeopardize the rest of the tank.

Have you checked all of your parameters?

Its probably expelling zooxanthellae (probably not spelled right) which is not good but not brown jelly. Every time mine has done that it has been due to water parameters being off.

Or the brown strings could be brown jelly. In either event I'd do an iodine dip.

I have tons of diatoms on the sand now.... I will try iodine dip
