I bought this as a candy apple acro. The magenta on it is real deep and the polyps seem bigger than a red planet. It does sorta resemble a red planet but the colors seem different to me. Never heard of a candy apple acro before. Any thoughts??

I have a maricultured coral that also is similar to red planet, it is quite possible it is just a similar coral, that someone found and gave another name. Either way should be a nice acro. My red planet has a lot of pe and does change colors depending on what kelvin light I use, 10k makes it the most red, 20 k more green/red.

It's a beautiful acro. I have a red planet at the same height in the tank and it's green. This one was just put in the tank yesterday so time will tell I guess

IMO it is just a show name with out any known lineage. If it were a Red Planet it would have to have the lineage from ORA. Potentially any Acropora species can have these color combinations red and green so I would say to just keep it named Candy Apply Acro for now. Maybe include the person or stores name that started the lineage.
