Hey guys I just purchased a used 35 gallon acrylic tank with built in filtration it measures 3 feet wide by 15 inches tall by 15 inches deep. I would like to make it a reef tank and am in need of some suggestions on lighting, as usual as is a reefers M O money is allways an issue but but I am open to all ideas or if anyone knows of anything or has anything that might work for this set up it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for all of the wonderful advice that is sure to come.

Right now all I have are softies but depending on what type of lighting I can afford I guess will depend on what I put in the new tank I just don't know what to look for and what a good price on lighting would be

PC are fine for softies and lps. T5 are are a good choice which allows grow sps to softies and MH for sps to softies.

at 35 gallons I would probably stay with PC or HO T5.....MH will probably be too hot and hard to cover 3ft with one bulb.

Check with REEFGEEK for TEK T5... I got the 8 bulb 54watt X8 lighting system.. I like it.. not that hot yet good light... Neighbors always wonder why my living room glows at night......
